Forget what you thought you knew about the guild Quilt Show. 2024 brings with it a new Quilt Exhibit!

Dates: April 13-14, 2024

Location: Seatauket Neighborhood House, 95 Main Street, Setuaket NY

Admission: $5

Registration: Members in good standing can register quilts to be exhibited at the show. Entry rules are available at meetings. Quilts registration forms must be returned by the January guild meeting.

Quilt Drop Off

At the March meeting all quilts must be handed in with the following:

1. All quilts must have a 4” hanging sleeve at the top on the back of the quilt.

2. All quilts must have a label with the quilt name and your name on it.

3. All quilts are to be handed in in a clean pillowcase with your name and phone number on it.

If you cannot attend the March meeting, please plan to have a friend bring it. Please contact Maureen Guardino in Holtsville or Karen Weiderman in East Northport to make other drop off arrangements.

Quilt Pick Up

Quilts will be ready for pick up after the show on Sunday. Please allow us time to take down the quilts. You may not take down your quilt before or at the show. Quilts will only be returned to the members with their registration form. If you have a friend pick up your quilt, she must have your registration form. No quilts will be returned without this form.

Show Challenges

OMBRE CHALLENGE:

As part of the Quilt Exhibitition, members were able to sign up for the Ombre Challenge. Each participant received a paint chip with seven hues of a single color. They also received a diagram of 144 half sqaure triangle blocks.

Guidelines:

1. Have fun with this challenge. Get out of your comfort zone and perhaps do something you might never do otherwise.

2. The quilt needs ot be pieced as pictured. It must be made of 288 triangles in the same orientation as the diagram.

3. Finished quilt must measure 24"x24".

4. Fabric must be solid or tone-on-tone. Fabric colors must be the same as paint chip. No other colors can be added.

5. Completed quilts must be handed in at the March 2024 general meeting.

HOUSE CHALLENGE:

Making house quilts has always been a favorite theme of Quilters. We want to share our love of house quilts at the Exhibit in April.

The only requirement is the quilt has to have a house or houses on it! Finished quilt size is 18" wide x 30" tall.

Completed quilts must be handed in at the March 2024 general meeting.
