President's Challenge - 2012

“Words and Birds”

Create a wall hanging using words and birds.

The wall hanging must be quilted with or without a hanging sleeve.

The wall hanging should be 84”.  That is, the perimeter should be 84”.
It can be any size that adds up to 84”.  Such as: 21” x 21”; 11” x 31”; 18” x 24”;
and if you remember “pi” it can be round.  Any size wall hanging where the
sides add up to 84” is the right size.

This is a “challenge” so…do not use purchased fabric with words and or birds
printed on it.  That is a no-no.

Words can be appliquéd, painted, embroidered, stitched, sewn, stamped, or
printed by you on your computer, printer or copy machine.  Or, try any other
technique you want.

Birds can be a pieced block (birds in the air, flying geese and others),
appliquéd, painted, stitched, stamped, embroidered, or any other technique
you want.

You want to embellish your wall hanging?  Go for it!

So remember…words, birds, 84” and quilted.  That’s it.

Have fun!
